Barbosa Rescues Suns from Running of the Bulls
The Suns waged a tough battle against the Chicago Bulls last night (in Chicago) and very nearly lost the game on two separate occasions. If not for a tip-in from Amare Stoudemire with about 20 seconds remaining to tie the game, and Leandro Barbosa's three from the top of the key w/ 1.5 seconds left, the Suns would be leaving Chicago in a sour mood. Fortunately for the Suns, they leave with a 97-96 victory and bragging rights against the (L)Eastern Conference.
Despite Chicago's impressive 14-2 home record, Phoenix went in and played like they deserved the win (at least in the 4th quarter they did).
Ben Gordon had a career night for the Bulls, finishing with 41 pts, but his 3-pointer at the buzzer was too late and bounced out.
Amare Stoudemire led the Suns w/ a monster game on the boards - he finished w/ 18 rebounds and 24 points... Ben Wallace only finished w/ 14 rbs btw. Shawn Marion and Barbosa both scored over 20 pts in support of STAT. Steve Nash helped increase his league lead in average assists by dishing out 13.
Phoenix plays Toronto tonight, in a game that should feature the return of All-Star F/C Chris Bosh.
