Top Fantasy B-Ball Studs
R 'n B over at RotoRob.com emailed me his pick for 2006 “fantasy stud of the year” in basketball. (visit RotoRob.com)
His pick is Shawn Marion - hard to argue if you look at everything the guy does (FG%, 3's, steals, blocks, points, assists, rebounds). Say what you want about his goofy looking shot - Shawn Marion should be getting a lot more All-Star and MVP votes. I have three fantasy basketball teams I'm managing this year and wish I had Marion on all three of them - unfortunately, I picked some other studs instead :P
Rob is dead-on w/ his award also - Yahoo Sports ranked Marion as the top fantasy player (predicted) for the 2006-2007 season. Gilbert Arenas and Kevin Garnett garnered the #2 and #3 spots, respectively.
As it sits today, the actual rankings are Arenas, Marion and Garnett.
If Phoenix was still missing Amare, you can bet that Marion's numbers would be even better. You have to give Arenas credit though... he's playing out of his mind right now. If only he could quit turning the ball over he'd be a fantasy stud x10.
In 2005, Yahoo predicted Marion would be the top player and they were right... Shawn was predicted & finished #1.
