Phoenix Suns Blog featuring the latest news & stories about the team you love
KTAR was reporting this morning that the Suns are negotiating with Utah to trade Marion for Andrei Kirilenko.
Go Suns, this should help them. Eddie is a good player who has not had a chance to show what he can do...
Hello, I have a friend that is really good friends with Jeff Horneseck or however you spell it, but he was saying Kerilinko might be traded straight out for Shawn Marion. Thats just what Jeff Horneseck said as he it Kelilinko's shooting coach.
Shawn Marion has been my favorite Sun for years. I am so proud of him, his attitude, his dimeaner.....a real role model, as are many of the Suns. My very favorite thing on tv, is to watch a Suns game. I am almost 80 yrs. old and no, I'm not a man. Please don't go Shawn, I need you and my great grand kids need you. Jj
LOVE YOU, SHAWN! Stop complaining, stop being so sensitive stating that the Suns don't appreciate you; the league is all business. All that matters is you, Nash, STAT, and Raj are going to win it all next season and the glory will be all for you!
PS 17 million a year sure seems like a lot love to me...
bunch of stuff going on with good ole michael jordon
shawn marion is a big pus** bitch he is so hard done by i hope that the suns trade him to atlanta or some crappy team that never wins
If Marion leaves Phoenix he wont be as successful with another team. And thats just the plain truth. DOnt get me wrong, i love shawn! Ive been a Suns fan for many many moons and i dont want him to leave at all. This is our year to win the finals. Shawn, think about what you're doing to this team, you're part of this core! Dont break it up over some stupid rumors! Obviously they would've traded you a long time ago, if they wanted to. STAY IN PHOENIX AND GET THAT RING YOU'VE BEEN WORKING SO HARD FOR....CUZ WE ALL KNOW YOU WONT GET IT ANYWHERE ELSE! PEACE AND LOVE! J-WORM!
Shawn, you are such a great asset to the team. You're the reason why I'm such a big fan. Without you the Suns don't stand a chance throughout the next season. You're where you belong.
I love shawn marion but i would gladly accept a trade for kerilenko who would "i think" be a better fit in phoenix with his style of play
i like you shawn if you going i miss you man
U are amazing
and i met u which is cool hahah at the basketball camp
ya so
It's that time of year again. With Major League Baseball wrapping up its playoffs, the NBA regular season
Need to find tucker jersey
I saw this guy at the POST magazine launch party last season (BTW POST is a fraud magazine) but this guy is a classic bottom feeder acting like a big shot fluffing Shawn Marion all night and acting like shawns personal waitress...thank god the suns woke up and traded this loser...dude, when you are an occasional player (5 min per game) dont act like your a 1st teamer and down normal guys who are around you, fans make it possible for your over inflated salery and dont forget it the next time your in public. This guy truly is an Irish dueche bag. Every other true Irishman I know is like the salt of the earth and I would buy them a guiness and salute that great country you swear your from. Now that you join the list of practice squad standouts on the Warriors where you belong I am thankful for one thing, the only time I will see you out in PHX again is on the bench when you play the suns....right where you belong.
Dear Shawn
Look man, i no that ur probably under circumsatances that we dont know of but if u think that ur not wanted in the suns, then u couldnt b more wrong. You r the most versatile player on phoenix, best all round defender as well. Very few are gifted with the speed that you have, you score about 18pts and round 12 boards a game. STAT cant do everything himself anf youre a killer on the fast break. Now, its your choice if u wanna b traded, but if ur doing it cuz u think ur unwanted then thats not right. There wouldnt be a PHX BIG 3 without u.
Hope u stay in the suns man
big fan
kobe needs to shut up and play. yeah it sucks but there are a lot of other "unhappy players" who still attend practice and team functions. yeah maybe your situation is unfair and sucks but sometimes you got to grow up and show some maturity; which probably would have precipitated a deal w/chicago. will he get traaded? yeah probably so in the next couple of months. some team will undoubtedly chase him but but most llikely not chicago.
marion is requesting the deal because he wants a max deal on an extension
suns cant and wont give a max deal to the third best player on the team
No, the injury probably isn't the best way to categorize Hill's missed time, but I have enough tags as it is ;)
CHRIS PAUL SHOULD B A STARTER
I'm sorry, Ginobili and Parker have missed too much time to be considered. Duncan is good enough to represent the Spurs.
Baron Davis and Camby are both pretty big omissions, but who do you replace? If you take out Boozer, an argument could be made for Deron Williams.
Maybe we need an All-Star tournament... 3 teams of 8. Haha...
Shawn Marion played well, so who was there with him that didn't show up?
I can't see any team taking Shaq unless they have zero chance of winning anytime soon, have the same length or longer contracts on the books for non-productive players, and simply hope Shaq's presence will bolster ticket sales. But even that's a stretch, seeing as Shaq wasn't voted or chosen to participate in this year's All Star game (for the first time in 15 years).
Shaq's contract is too big. He's too old and too slow, especially for the Suns or any other up-tempo team. I hope Shaq stays put in Miami and hangs it up after this season. His sun has set. The NBA's in the capable hands of LeBron, Wade, Carmello, Kobe (for a few more years), Dwight Howard, and Chris Paul.
After the stunning trade from the Memphis Grizzlies for Kwame and pocket lint, Pau Gasol stepped onto

The game against the Lakers ought to be a battle! I'm looking forward to it! :-)
Ben Gordon is a solid player, but he's a 6th man and he's injured.
His team isn't good enough either unfortunately...
When he's starting and producing, then it definitely becomes a bigger argument.
KG to miss the All-Star Game - will be replaced by the red-hot Pistons' Rasheed Wallace. (And no, Rasheed isn't on fire, his team is).
Seriously, this is the best guy they could find as a replacement? Let's start putting the best players, regardless of conference in if this is the best they can do.
Ray Allen from the Celtics has been chosen by David Stern as a replacement for Caron Butler, who is also injured.
Carl - Thanks for pointing out the spelling error. It's been fixed!
In regards to the comments on Nash... He can still try to get the other players involved and not carry his weight IMHO. They need to score more or play better defense; two things Nash has been struggling with (the defense for a long time). Steve is still getting about the same number of assists w/ O'Neal on the team, so he's distributing just fine - he needs to shoot the ball.
Nash needs to start playing his style of ball and letting Shaq figure it out as they move along. Shaq is playing fine... they need to quit trying to use him on the screen/rolls and get him out of Nash's path to the basket.
The loss last night against the Nuggets was embarrassing.
LAKERS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
SUNS RULE
LAKERS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
KOBE BRYANT'S A BALL HOG PASS THE BALL WILL YOU
SUNS ARE BETTER THAN THE SORREY LAKERS
Eric, you're absolutely right. When I was his age, I wanted to play ball 24/7.
Unfortunately, he signed a contract and has an obligation to the team.
It is a nice game. There are a back to back game today. Nugget win 126-120. Do you think that they can go in to the Playoff?
The Nuggets have a tough road ahead to make the playoffs, as do the Warriors and Mavericks.
Dallas is close to getting Nowitzki back, although he won't be playing tonight. They have a couple tough games including the Suns, Lakers, Jazz, Hornets and Warriors. Of course, they have some gimmies as well in the Supersonics (twice) and against Portland.
The Warriors face the Mavs, Hornets, Nuggets and Suns, w/ gimmies against the Grizzlies, Kings, Clippers and Supersonics.
The Nuggets have remaining; Warriors, Jazz and Rockets. Gimmies include Kings, Supersonics, Clippers, Grizzlies.
I see the Mavs finishing 4-4, Warriors finishing 6-1 (or 6-2), and the Nuggets finishing 5-2. Of course, this puts the Mavs out of the playoffs.
Looks like I was wrong... Mavs clinched a playoff berth late last week, while the Nuggets appear close to securing their spot. The Warriors have struggled and look like the odd-team out.
Baron has not SIGNED anything yet. Matter of fact his press confrence was cancelled with the Clips. Most likely he's headed back to GS.
Jeremy: With the trade for Camby, do you still think Baron is screwed w/ the Clippers? They really didn't give up anything to get him...
What do you think?
The Phoenix Suns face off against a suddenly resurgent Sacramento Kings team in California tonight, but
You're right Joe, Dirk does rebound more than Amare, but only this year. This year, Dirk is up on Amare about 1 per game.
The past 2 seasons, Amare has averaged about 0.75 more rebounds per game than Nowitzki.
About Dirk not sulking or giving up... let's look back at the Mavs playoff failures.
Here's what up... Amare is frustrated and wants to be included in the offense more consistently - who wouldn't? Let's not focus on the stats just yet, since he's only played 20 games. He should be measured by what he does over the course of the entire season.
Jay - Definitely agree w/ you on the refs. I suggested that the play was physical, but evenly called.
As far as Amare goes, I think your comments are great, but I don't agree w/ them entirely. He can shoot from outside, drive to the hole and finish plays. He often gets stuck in bad situations and turns the ball over and/or commits a charge, but otherwise is a solid offensive player. (let's not get started on the defense)
What has impressed me lately about Stoudemire is his ability to pass the ball. Even earlier this year, he would hardly ever pass, even if he was double or triple teamed. The past few weeks have seen a big turnaround in my opinion. STAT is passing for winning shots, passing out of bad situations and apparently trusting his teammates more.
Thanks for commenting.
The person in the Suns organization that needs to be traded is Steve Kerr. He has taken the exciting team that was once one crooked official away from a championship season and turned it into a slow plodding team structured around an aging Shaq. The results of his schemes have not panned out and don't appear to have much of a future.
I aggree with everybody else. I have been a suns fan since they had Connie Hawkins. Back then, the Suns lost a lot. The new team with Nash, Stoudemire, Diaw, Barbosa, Kurt Thomas, Raja Bell, Shawn Marion, and Tim Thomas was great. They messed up when the coach left and they got Shaq. I never liked his style of play even when he was good. Too slow for the exciting fast break play of the Suns. Game plan: Keep everybody except Shaq. Trade him for another shooter and big guy as a back up center.
Reports are abound this morning that current Phoenix Suns head coach Terry Porter is on his way out of
im a fan of phoenix but there organization are idiots why even consider trading amare get rid of shaq ass and that dumb ass coach.....
Amare Stoudemire 's doctor has indicated that the retinal tear Amare suffered is more serious than a
Such a talented team they are. But the run and gun style just isn't going to work, i thought they would've figured that out by now...
How unfortunate. A player they needed for the fast break, they're not doing bad, but they need his agressiveness and activity on both ends of the court.
Seriously though, how unlucky for the Suns, could've traded him, but now, they held onto him, then out for the season.
I think this trade makes the Cavs better. Not a lot better - Shaq is no longer as dominant as he was in 2001, obviously - but I think just about any decent big man is an upgrade from the Corpse Formally Known As Ben Wallace.
